New technology may exist.This SAE Recommended Practice applies to spring-loaded clutches such as are used with manual shift type transmissions.This document is intended to provide a uniform test procedure for spring- loaded clutches to determine rotative speeds at which they will either burst or withstand a specified limiting speed.
