Description
Applies to edible and industrial grades of acid casein, and to rennet casein. Sampling rates for consignments and methods of sample preparation are given. Procedures are described for determining odour, flavour, colour, sediment, extraneous matter, particle size, moisture, ash, fat, pH, free acidity, lactose, protein, copper, iron, and lead. Included with this Standard are N60C1 and N60C2, which are precise reference colour standards for untreated and heat-treated acid casein and wet-heat-treated rennet casein and for untreated rennet casein respectively, and N60S, which is a photographic print of standard sediments for reference in determining sediment in industrial acid and edible acid casein.
